Pharmacist FAQs Answered

Is CB12 safe to use daily?

Yes, CB12 is safe to use daily. In fact, using it regularly every morning as part of your oral hygiene routine can leave your mouth fresh for up to 12 hours. The product is formulated to neutralise the sulphur gases that create bad breath rather than mask them. If you experience persistent bad breath despite regular use, seeing a dentist or pharmacist is advisable because it could be a sign of a dental or health issue.

What is the function of fluoride in CB12?

CB12 contains 0.05% sodium fluoride, which strengthens tooth enamel and protects against tooth decay. This fluoride level is similar to that of most over-the-counter toothpaste and mouthwashes. It's a pleasant added feature that protects your teeth while leaving your mouth feeling fresh. Just remember to take it as directed so you don't overdose on fluoride.

Does CB12 interfere with other drugs or oral products?

CB12 is generally safe to use alongside most medications and oral care products. However, because it contains chlorhexidine, it's essential not to use it simultaneously as other mouthwashes that also contain chlorhexidine or strong antiseptics may cause irritation or reduce effectiveness. If you’re using prescription mouthwash or have dental treatments in progress, ask your pharmacist if CB12 is suitable for you.

Why is alcohol present in CB12, and is it safe?

CB12 has a minute quantity of alcohol, which serves as a stabiliser and a solvent for some ingredients. It is low and safe for adults and children above 12. Individuals who do not take alcohol for health, religious, or personal reasons might prefer taking an alcohol-free variant. CB12 is non-intoxicating and safe for use when instructions are followed, but it must never be swallowed.

Will CB12 treat morning breath or after-meal breath?

Yes, CB12 works particularly well to neutralise the causes of morning and post-meal bad breath, particularly those involving garlic, onions, or strong spices. Taking CB12 in the morning or before socialising can give long-lasting freshness. For best results, take it after brushing your teeth, and do not eat or drink for 15 minutes afterwards.

Is CB12 suitable for people who have sensitive teeth or gums?

CB12 is generally mild, but highly sensitive-mouthed individuals are advised to attempt it first or visit a pharmacist. It contains the active ingredients zinc acetate and chlorhexidine, which are effective for odour control but mildly irritant for sensitive individuals with allergies or very sensitive gums. Discontinue use if you experience stinging or irritation and consult your local healthcare professional.

How should CB12 be stored, and for how long after opening?

CB12 must be stored at room temperature and away from direct sunlight and heat. Store the bottle tightly closed when not in use. After opening, it will remain effective for as long as the expiry date is indicated on the pack, provided it is stored correctly. Always check the expiry before use and do not use the product if it has changed colour, smell, or texture.
